No one can give you a real number without seeing the place. It depends on the system size, your roof, your switchboard and how your household uses power. Once someone has been out and looked at it, you get an itemised quote in writing. Ask any installer for that before you sign.
We will not put a number on that until we have seen your bill and your roof. At the assessment we look at how your household uses power and what a system on your roof should produce, and you get that in writing. If any installer hands you a savings figure, us included, ask what usage and roof data sits behind it.
The assessment is free and you are not locked in. A rep comes to the house, looks at the roof and the switchboard and goes through your usage, then you get a written quote. If you decide against it, that is the end of it.
It means you pay nothing up front to get started. Payment plans available, subject to approval. The system still has a price and you pay it off over the term of the plan. Ask for the total amount payable in writing before you sign, and ask what the system costs outright so you can compare the two.
A payment plan is finance, so the provider assesses your application and can say no. Ask what that assessment involves, including any credit check, before you hand over your details. Get the term, the repayments and the total amount payable in writing before you commit.
Some homes need extra work, like a switchboard or meter change. That is why the assessment happens at the house instead of over the phone. We price that work into the quote before anything starts. If something cannot be known until install day, ask any installer to say so up front and tell you what it would cost.
It comes down to pitch, direction, shade and the condition of the roof itself. You cannot settle that off a satellite image, so ask any installer whether someone will actually get up on the roof before they quote. With us, a rep does the on-site assessment first, then we design the system around what your roof allows.
That comes down to how much power you use, when you use it, and how much usable roof you have. Bigger is not automatically better. Have a recent bill handy for the assessment so we build the design off your real usage rather than an average.
No, tile is a normal job. It does need the right mounting hardware and someone who can lift and reset tiles without cracking them, so ask who will physically be on your roof. On our jobs it is our own licensed technicians up there.
Usually not on its own. It depends which sections are shaded and at what time of day, so a rep checks that on site rather than guessing at it. The design then uses the parts of the roof that stay clear. If the shade is bad enough to be a real problem, we will tell you.
North is not the only direction that works. East and west roofs also produce, just at different times of day. The assessment works out what each face of your roof can do before we quote anything.
The system is fixed to the roof, so the property owner has to agree to it. Start with your landlord or the agent. If they are open to it, we can run the assessment with them.
Power you export to the grid during the day earns almost nothing. A battery keeps that power at your place instead, so you use your own stored power after dark rather than sending it out. That is all a battery does.
Solar powers what your home is using while the sun is up. If your household uses most of its power in the evening, a battery is worth looking at, because it holds what is left over for after dark. If you are home during the day, solar on its own might do the job. Ask any installer, us included, to show you your own usage pattern before they recommend one.
It depends on the size and the equipment, so you get a price in writing after a rep has seen your roof, switchboard and usage. Payment plans available, subject to approval. There is no deposit to get started.
Often yes. Some batteries work with an existing inverter, others come with their own and sit alongside it. It comes down to your inverter model and how much room is in your switchboard. A rep checks both while they are at the house.
Only if it is set up for backup, and plenty of batteries and installs are not. Backup needs extra equipment and wiring at the switchboard, and it normally runs selected circuits, like the fridge and some lights, rather than the whole house. Ask any installer to put in writing which circuits stay on.
A home battery install is electrical work, so a licensed electrician has to do it, and to the product's own install rules. Ask any installer for their electrical contractor licence number and whether their own staff do the work. We hold QLD electrical contractor licence 87161 and install with our own licensed technicians. We are accredited with Master Electricians Australia and Solar Accreditation Australia.
Every battery holds less as it ages. The detail sits in the warranty document, so read that rather than the summary. Check what capacity it covers and who handles a claim, the installer or the manufacturer. Ask for that document before you sign.
We call you to arrange a time and check a few basics about your home and how you use power. If it is worth going further, we book an on-site assessment where a rep looks at the roof, the switchboard and your bills. You then get a written proposal to read in your own time. Filling in the form does not commit you to anything.
We call you to work out whether solar suits your place. Tell us it is not for you and we stop there. You can also ask us to email you instead. Our number is 1300 911 736 if you would rather call us first.
It depends on your retailer, your network connection and stock on the day. Ask any installer for the two dates that count: the expected install date, and the date the network paperwork is finished. We give you both, and we tell you if either one moves.
Our own technicians do our installs, not labour hire. It is a fair question to put to any installer you talk to. Ask for the electrical contractor licence of the business doing the work. Ours is 87161 in Queensland and 372946C in New South Wales.
An adult needs to be home to let the crew in and to sign off at the end. Expect the power to be off for part of the day while they work on the switchboard. They will tell you on arrival how long your job should take, and they clean up and walk you through the system before they leave.
We fix the mounting into the roof structure and seal every point. That fixing work is what keeps the roof watertight, so ask any installer who does it, what licence they hold, and who you call if something shows up months later. We hold QLD electrical contractor licence 87161 and install with our own licensed technicians.
Your system comes with a monitoring app that shows what the panels are producing, day by day. We set it up at handover and show you how to read it. If something looks off, call us and we will check it.

Ask for the licence number, then go and check it yourself. A card in a wallet or a logo on a website is not proof. Your state's electrical safety regulator can tell you whether a licence is current. Ours is 87161 in Queensland and 372946C in New South Wales, so start with us.
No, they are two different things. An electrical licence covers working on wiring. Solar accreditation covers the design and install of the system itself. Ask any company for both. We are accredited with Solar Accreditation Australia and Master Electricians Australia.
Put them side by side on the same lines: panel brand and model, inverter brand and model, number of panels, total system size. Then who does the install, what the warranty covers and who you claim it from. The price only means something once those lines match.
You are allowed to take the paperwork away and read it before you decide. Check what is included, what is excluded, and the cancellation terms. If a rep tells you something out loud, ask for it in writing on the quote, including any end date on the price. Take that time with our paperwork too.
Nobody can promise you that, so judge what you can check today. A business address you can visit, a phone number that reaches a person, the licence held in the company's own name, and a record of completed work. Ask every installer for all four, us included. Ours are Nerang in Queensland and Smeaton Grange in New South Wales, 1300 911 736, and 13,000 plus installations.
Read them somewhere the company does not control. A Google Business Profile shows the star rating and the number of reviews together, and the count matters as much as the score. Look for reviews that mention install day and what happened afterwards. Our Nerang profile sits at 4.7 stars from 462 reviews at the time of writing.

From first contact with EFS to installation in little over a week - pretty amazing! We dealt with the team based in FNQ for solar batteries. The salesman was knowledgeable and professional, not forcing a bigger system on us than we needed. The whole process from quote to install took just over 2 weeks. The install team arrived on time, were pleasant, tidied up after themselves and were in and out in no time. No hidden extras to add to the bill. Would I use them again, absolutely. The price was competitive too.

Jonathon came out to look at our solar system and our electricity bill. After seeing our feed in compared to usage, he explained that our system was working efficiently and provided suggestions on saving electricity. He didn’t try to push a sale on us. Just honest and unbiased suggestions to help us save money. I highly recommend their services!
Great process from first call to completed installation. We had 18kw of solar and the largest Goodwe ESA with 50kwh of storage. Nick the sale chap was very helpful and quick to respond to my questions. We are now essentially off grid!
EFS solar have been wonderful to deal with. Kyle was very knowledgeable when he came to consult and quote. Walked us through our power usage and designed a system that will grow with our family. The installation team were great and finished up exactly at the time they’d originally told us. Jonathan the solar specialist came out to give a quote. Instead of selling a solar system, he recommended getting in touch with the energy provider. His honesty wasn't expected in this current economic climate and was deeply appreciated especially in his line of work. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. The work team was on time and professional from the initial call to the installation. They installed everything on the same day, did a complete cleanup, and gave me instructions on how to use the monitoring app. I've already seen a decrease in bills!

This is a bit premature as I have just signed the contract for solar panels and batteries and the installation hadn’t yet occurred , but I just wanted to express my great thanks to Nic the sales rep from EFS in Sydney. The process up til now in my case has been a little more complicated than others given that I live in a Strata complex - and various unforeseen delays occurred. Throughout, Nic has been enormously patient, supportive, helpful and understanding - he is a credit to the company. I now look forward to the installation !
Look it all sounded all to good to be true i was very sceptical. But from the sales team to the installers they did an amazing job. I got an 8 kw inverter upgrade with 5kw (no battery)of panels and with a family of four cranking the aircon in cairns its knocked off a hundred dollars off the bill. Overall the whole team are honest and hard working glad I took i decided to upgrade old system

Great experience. The process, installation and savings were explained in great detail. The installation happened on the appointed day and the installers were great. They explained what they were doing and the electricity was shut down for a very short period. There was a small glitch this was rectified very quickly and without issue. The savings are huge!

From the initial phone contact to EFS Solar, through the the entire process of the sale with Wayne, it was explained in plain language that I could understand every step of the process as explained. Jay, the leader of the installation team took the time to explain in great detail the installation process and after a very detailed explanation of the operation of the system. Gioel came to our house and talked us through which system would work best for us to get the maximum out of our system. He explained the whole process from start to finish. The day of the fitting was excellent the fitters turned up on time and worked effortlessly they were quiet and soon had our old panels down and the new ones up and running . EXCEPTIONAL team worked brilliantly to install my solar today. They went above and beyond in repairing some broken tiles on my roof and are organising assistance for some additional work needed. Their answers to any enquire were worded in a way that was simple for an older man to understand. NOW over 6 months since my instillation and one word remains applicable PERFECT - I'm running my Pool, Air Con and other household devices on FREE SOLAR -- the APP on my phone gives me constant, accurate information which allows me to adjust any device usage - eg leave the pool off for a rainy day and my electricity bill has reduced significantly. I continue to recommend this supplier and I have not had to contact them ONCE since instillation with a problem -- YOU COULDN'T ASK FOR BETTER

Although she knew from one of my first responses that solar was not going to benefit me for my current build, she clearly explained the processes, was friendly and patient. I like to thank Matt Crouch. The way he explained to me about the way the system was going to work and the savings I would be receiving. You Guys are the best, even though it took 3 attempts to install the system due to bad weather (NO FAULT OF YOURS) you were on time, you got on with each other, and you got on with the job, very professional. My system has only just been installed. With some shade of a palm tree, it's already producing 21.5 kWh per day. Yep I'm happy with that.

EFS quoted me for solar in the Hawkesbury area northwest of Sydney. I had numerous calls pre-installation with a sales rep named Kyle. He was really helpful, answered every question I had, explained things in laymans terms and brokered a really good deal for me. EFS were not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. But in all the conversations I had, they were the most transparent and earned my trust. Installation was a breeze. Had to be rescheduled due to rain, but communication was brilliant. Arrived when they said they would, installation went smoothly and they took the time to explain every step. At the end, showed me the app and how to work it. My place was spotless - you'd never know they were there. I did have a problem with the hot water timer as the installer forgot to set one little button. But a phonecall to talk me through how to do it meant issue solved very easily - and I got to know how the hot water timer works for future reference!! I'd recommend these guys 100%. Thanks!

If you’re thinking solar, then you could not get better, more professional service and value for money, than EFS Solar. From beginning to end, it was clear that the EFS Solar Team who informed, advised and installed our system were experts in their particular fields. The representative consultant, Val, was not only knowledgeable about the product, she was also passionate about why it was the best product to install and how it would be good for us, economically and environmentally. She explained the high quality and durability of the panels and the company’s twenty-five year warranty. Her explanations and answers to my many questions were concise and simple for me to understand. The installation was conducted by an expert electrician and technician and installer/roofer. These young fellows, Callum and Jye had the whole set up complete in just five hours. My husband and I were very impressed with their attendance to their particular tasks, the way they worked so cheerfully as a team and the explanations they gave us about operating the system going forward and about using an app to monitor our solar panels at work. Everyone involved in this process were amazing. Very efficient, arrived on time, very professional and friendly staff from office staff, Logan, our amazing salesman who explained everything really well and the technician and electrician who installed the system. All the back up stuff like organising our current electricity supplier to come and update our meter, organising the Government rebate, the finance so that we could pay this off as we currently pay our electricity bill weekly was all done for us. No $ outlay. The system looks great. We are very humbled and grateful for this amazing new system. I’m about 4 months into owning my system. Has worked fantastic so far, what they quoted I’d save is pretty much exact. I went for a five year plan to pay it off and the money saved matches the repayments so happy with that. The installers were friendly blokes, quick and efficient. Big shout out to whoever sold me the system over the phone, very honest, no pressure and wish him all the best.

I had solar panels installed a few months ago now, the sales representative was so helpful and took the time to listen and explained every question asked. Jai and another worker installed the panels - both were very friendly and helpful, talked me through how to use the app for the solar and had an answered all of my questions. Very happy with EFS's services, their representative Gary was so helpful and happy to spend the time going through the whole procedure with me. Once the date of installation was set the crew arrived and completed the job. My first bill was $24 but now that all the adjustments have settled I get a monthly bill of no charge and credit in my account. Definitely well worth doing. :-)

EFS Solar Cairns Team - THE BEST! You gotta love a team, that love their job, and take pride on their work! Gary the Rep. a really nice bloke, discussed the best package for us, and positioning for the panels, and all forms now completed electronically! Brilliant! Understandably had a couple of days of bad weather being in the tropics, John the Certified Electrician (awesome bloke) still embarked on getting the unit installed, whilst the boys Richard and Roy came the following day to install the frames, then Friday morning to install solar panels when we finally had great weather. Once again, awesome bunch of guys great attitude, very respectful, and funny! They wished they could have done it on the appointed day, as it really doesn't take that long, but all good with us living up in Cairns, and for me, I was concerned for their safety on the roof on those couple of rainy days we had. Regardless all done, and John guided me on the the use of the App. Technology these days totally amazing! Highly recommend Cairns EFS Solar!

The EFS Solar team (Shawn, Callum, Ed and Russell) were outstanding from start to finish, with a professional and detailed consultation weighing up our options through to installation of a 13 kW system on our house within one week. What's more, Callum and the team found some existing water damage in our garage ceiling and isolated the source in the roof, which we will now be able to repair. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to go solar.

This was a very smooth journey, starting with an EFS consultant coming out to my home, explaining in detail all technical and financial aspects of having a 6.6kW system compared to a few other options, accommodating my timeframes and circumstances as well as providing great pricing. The installation team were nice and approachable, working efficiently, and took half the time planned to do the work. Very happy with the result and can't wait to reap the benefits!

The salesman was well informed, and the various tradies and technicians who installed the system and checked the system later did a good job... Unfortunately the inverter we chose (Sungrow ) stopped working and the Sungrow would not honor the warrenty claim (despite the fact that it was clearly not working). This has led to an extended time where we have not been able to access the benefits of our solar pannel system - EFS have installed an inverter at their own cost while they work towards resolving the warrenty claim on the inverter. While communication was not the best for a while (leaving us wondering what was going on) EFS have have been working to resolve the issue and have been restrained and patient with a very grumpy customer (ME).
EFS Solar installed our solar unit Monday 31st October. Amazing, wonderful service and trade persons. We had an existing unit removed and the new one installed by EFS Solar, the trade persons talked me through every step I asked about as they were doing the install. My husband had left me with clear instructions :-) We had a cracked tile on our roof and they replaced it for us, so grateful for that considering the wet season we have had so far this year. Also installed the phone app for me ! Keep up the amazing service. Will definitely be recommending and sending business your way. Cheers
